Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the negative impacts of the pandemic and related restrictions on public spaces, and the role of street art as one of the tools to counteract them. I claim that the current crises, epidemiological and socioeconomic, create another type of breakdown: the crisis of public space and the reaction to it. Street art is gaining significance as a voice of political dissent against the appropriation of public space.
