Territorial cohesion of Polish communes from the economic point of view

Summary/Abstract: In this paper four-phased scale of territorial and economic cohesion of Polish communes is described. To calculate the degree of territorial and economic cohesion, we used an economic factorial analysis. The highest degree of territorial and economic cohesion was obtained by city communes, and the lowest by country communes. It has been shown that 43% of these researched communes show a dependency between both types of cohesion. The obtained results confirm influence of territorial cohesion on forming economic cohesion, with a correlation ratio of 0.49.
