Summary/Abstract: In the article are set forth all the opinions expressed so far in science on the interpretation of the passage in Chapter VIII of the Detailed Life of Constantine-Cyril where it is said that Constantine found in Cherson a gospel and a psalter written "with Russian letters", and these opinions are hypothesis that the passage in question is a more recent interpolation in the text of the Life and presents his arguments in favour of this hypothesis.
