Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt at the reinterpretation of the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact, commenting on the comprehensive literature on this breaking-through event in the international relations of the twentieth century. The author discusses various attempts at explaining its Genesis and importance. He also offers his own interpretation of this tactical alliance between the two totalitarian dictatorships.
