Summary/Abstract: The current article is devoted to the reflection of some ethnic stereotypes in the mirror of the modern Russian language by means of the nationally marked word combinations according to the model “adjective + noun”. More than three thousand lexical units, selected by means of the continuous sampling out of the Russian belles-lettres works, as well as the print and audio-visual Russian-language media of 21st century, have been analyzed. As it turned out, the nationally marked lexical units, being the indispensable part of the linguistic world view, make its special detail and, on one side, are characterized by their stability, and on the other side, have rather shifting borders. The formation and fixation of such linguistically marked units is influenced by the social and historical, social and political, cultural and economical factors which make one of the main antinomies of any nation- al consciousness – that is the opposition “one's own – some else's”. The thematic and frequency principles lay the foundation of the classification of the collected language material. The research ends with the linguistic experiment which is due to distinguish national stereotypes in the unsophisticated linguistic world view of the modern Russian-language speaker. The language material and some primary findings suggested in this article may be useful not only to linguists, but also to political scientists, culturologists, ethnologists and other analytics of interpersonal relations.
