Summary/Abstract: Some of the results obtained from the research on a house dated to the 6th century В. С. are presented. It is one of the largest of that period to have been studied in Europe so far. The plan was slightly trapezoid in form. The roof was supported by wooden pillars; the building material was timber, clay and straw. The walls, 2,20 m in height, were made of wattle covered with a thick layer of clay plaster. The floor was made of a row of logs covered with clay, baked afterwards together with the walls. The saddle roof consisted of a timber structure thatched with straw. There was a ceiling of rafters and clay beneath it. A measuring unit of 0,42 m was used in the work of building. An interior wall divided the house into two parts. The narrow northern part served as a storeroom and workshop for implements. All the necessaries for the normal life of two related families were found in the spacious southern room: an oven, a hearth, storage room for cereals, millstones, a space for domestic needs, two wooden couches, an upright loom, a sacrificial pit. There was even the cult model of a dwelling. Judging by yearly layers of clay laid over the floor the house must have existed for over 50 years.
