Summary/Abstract: As a continuation of John Paul II’s mission also Benedict XVI preaches the Gospel in various parts of the world. Since the commencement of his pontificate till May 2012 the pope has made 23 foreign apostolic journeys. This article is a research based on the messages addressed during 11 of them. These journeys took place in several Western European countries such as: Germany (2005, 2006, 2011), Spain (2006, 2010, 2011), Austria (2007), France (2008), Portugal (2010), the United Kingdom (2010) and the Czech Republic (2009). Man of any time need Christ. Without him he or she succumbs into an existential void which cannot be filled by anyone or anything. Benedict XVI’s proclamation of the Good News is a fruit of his own fascination with the God’s gift and it refers to various aspects of the human activity. The themes of the papal preaching can be grouped into 7 triads: i) Word – Church – Sacraments; ii) Hope – Faith – Love; iii) Life – Gift – Holiness; iv) Past – Presence – Future; v) Truth – Science – Freedom; vi) Longing – Suffering – Happiness; vii) Dialog – Ecumenism – Culture. Benedict XVI by his evangelisation work invites others to evangelise too. He affirms that the method one adapts in proclaiming the Word largely depends on the content of preaching. Therefore, the first step in evangelisation is one’s personal encounter with Jesus Christ and a response given to him which comes as a result conversion. The preparation which follows and the preaching of the Word can be worked out in the process of one’s studying, the experience of the confrontation of the grace and one’s personal life as well as the dialog which one has within him or herself and with the external world.
