Expectations of Spouses Towards the Pastoral Support of Conjugal Love

Summary/Abstract: The sacrament of marriage is part of the natural pursuit of love by a man and a woman. In it, the spouses receive support from God Himself. The task of pastors and the entire Church community is to strengthen the spouses in their sacramental love. This process is called pastoral accompaniment. Research has shown that an increase in the expectations of strengthening marital love is influenced by the spouses’ attitude to faith, membership in groups and associations and the length of their marriage. The pastoral challenge is to strengthen the faith of the spouses, to involve more and more couples in groups and associations and to care for couples with shorter marriages.
