Summary/Abstract: Societies try to pass on events that are important to them, such as war, migration, disaster, exile and their effects sometimes the same and sometimes by changing and transforming them, to the next generations. In this transference process, in which verbal narratives play the leading role, there are not only events and their effects, but also ideals / aspirations / expectations that emerge as a result of them. In this study, the desire that one day will be attained to the homeland, which is in the social memory of the Crimean Tatars who were expelled from their homeland, and which turned into an ideal for them, became the subject of the legend of Arzu Kız. Within the scope of the study, social events and the reflection of feelings, thoughts and ideals shaped by them on verbal narratives are emphasized; a summary of the legend has been presented by giving information about the legend of Arzu Kız. Legend of the Arzu Kız was examined as a representation of the ideals of the Crimean Tatars.
