Summary/Abstract: While classifications are made with the need for systematization in scientific studies, children's folklore, which is one of these classifications in the field of folklore, can be considered as cultural studies in which the child is at the center in its most comprehensive form. How children's folklore is studied and should be studied is as important as what it is. In this context, the universe of this study was composed of children's folklore studies in Turkey, while the sample was selected from graduate theses prepared under the name of children's folklore. The main problem of the study is what is the position of the child in the studies examined. The scope of the studies in question, the methods used in these studies, which areas of culture are the subject of the studies, the criteria used in the selection of the source persons and how appropriate these criteria are for children's folklore; In these studies, the sub-problems of the study are whether the focus is on the areas where the child is active in the culture, or whether the child is reduced to an object position and focused on the areas where the child is passively involved. While content analysis based on archive research constitutes the method of the study; As a result of the study, it was concluded that the child is mostly positioned as passive rather than active, as an object rather than a subject, the studies focus on certain areas of culture, and the methods used and the criteria for determining the source person are not sufficient for child-centered studies, and the scope and method of children's folklore studies for future studies. recommendations have been made
