Summary/Abstract: Language Games in Two 17th-Century Heraldry Books. The aim of this study is dealing about two 17th century books of heraldry, both analyzed by way of a peculiar method, is borrowed from the field of philosophy. The author of one book is the French heraldist Claude-François Ménestrier, while the author of the other book is the founder of the German Pietismus, Philipp Jakob Spener. The study points out the differences between two heraldic mentalities, from two countries, as well as the specificity of every published work.
