Summary/Abstract: The article brings into the reader's attention some fragments of a manuscript by Hortensia Papadat Bengescu, the novel "Straina". Some characters of this unpublished novel are new, apart from some already present in the previous writings, "Straina"(Ina), is a talented pianist who is trying to compose a piece on Mihail Eminescu's poem "Melancolie"Melancholy.
