Summary/Abstract: Silifke, which was the capital of the Selefkos state and Karaman principality from time to time in the past, became the center of the Turkish camps who migrated from Horasan in Erzurum and thus became a rich folk culture center. The folk songs of the nomads (Yörüks) of the Silifke region also constitute the folkloric elements that reflect the culture of the region. The fact that no musicologically scientific field research and compilation has been carried out on Silifke folk songs that have been compiled and notated is the reason for the formation and presentation of this article. In the article, information about the concepts of human, culture, Silifke region, Yörüks and folk music is given, and the concepts are explained with the views of folklore researchers. These folk songs were collected and recorded from people living as nomads (Yörüks) in the mountain villages of Silifke, which is our research area. The source persons in our study are Ahmet Bülbül from Taşucu district and Ahmet Ali Çavuş from the village of Burunucu. Sound recordings were made on reel tapes in 1960 and 1976 and transferred to notes. Maximum care and diligence has been shown in transferring the folk songs collected in our article from voice recordings to notes. It is aimed to reach accurate, complete and scientific information about Silifke music folklore. Importance has been attached to ensuring that these folk songs from our past are passed on to future generations without any corruption. Özcan Seyhan, who compiled our folk songs, comes first among our resources.
