Summary/Abstract: Excavations primarily in sectors II, VII and IX of the Banganarti defenses were designed to collect su cient data for a preliminary phasing and functional analysis of the fortifications. Evidence was also recorded for human activity next to the defenses, including the presence of layers of burning at the foundation level of the curtain wall.
