ASPECTS REGARDING JEWISH SOCIETIES OF MUTUAL SUPPORTFROM THE CITY OF BACĂU IN THE XIX-XX CENTURIES

Summary/Abstract: The Jewish societies of mutual support in the city of Bacău from the XIX-XX centuries represent a subject little treated in Romanian historiography, a theme discovered after analyzing the archive documents from the funds of the Bacău Jewish Community, the Fraterna Society and the Înfrățirea Society. By researching these documents that can be found at the Bacău County Service of National Archives, we aim to present information on the aid societies for Jews in difficulty, in the city of Bacău. Our attention is directed to the Fraterna and Înfrățirea Societies, which functioned from the end of the 19th century until 1941.
