Summary/Abstract: The article describes the question of construction of Katyn Monument in London in the 1970s in the light of British and Polish diplomatic documents. Main emphasis was put on the international aspects of the described problem. The text also presents responses of the British people to the position taken by the British cabinet who, trying to avoid complications in their relations with communist states, sought to hamper the construction of the monument.
