Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to show the role of spiritual development in the context of Karol Wojtyła’s poetic thought. The issue was approached from two perspectives – Subjectivity and Creativity. They are included in consecutive parts of the study as main points of reference: the personal development processes laying at the basis of human development (self-realization, personalization, self-creation, transgression), art as experience, role of creativity in development. Affirmation of subjectivity was perceived as an inspiration for spiritual development. Wojtyła’s poetry and dramas reflect a fully thought-out and mature conception of the person. The essence of the personal-creative process in Karol Wojtyła’s poetic thought is a deep reflection, captured within the frame of the creative process – up to transcendence. Subjectivity and Creativity are areas of reference and inspiration in supporting the development of a person. The experience of closeness with the transcendent reality prompts us to consider the meaning of existence, the creative possibilities of man and the way of expressing them in a personal perspective. The presented areas of spiritual development can therefore be a source of pedagogical reflection.
