Special and General Prevention in Case of Penalties Related to Limiting Freedom of the Convicted

Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the typical features of the special and general prevention, especially in case of penalties related to limiting the freedom of the convicted. The opinions of the leading scholars – experts in penal law in Bulgaria are highlighted. The author reveals the condition of Bulgarian system of sanctions, provides examples from legislation of other countries and arrives at conclusions about the trends in the development of our objective law in realisation of the preventative tasks.
