Summary/Abstract: It is not known when Mren-i Karabakh came under the domination of Eastern Rome. But VII. Towards the middle of the century, it is seen that during the reign of the emperor Heraclius, it was within the borders of Eastern Rome. When we look at the history of Mren in general, we see that it shares the same fate as it has almost the same historical course with Kars and Anı next to it. After the Dandanakan victory, Seljuk Kutalmış stood out in the Turkish-Byzantine struggle. He was appointed to the conquest of Azerbaijan by order of Tuğrul Bey. Meanwhile, he brought the region under Turkish domination in his successful raids. Kutalmış marched on Kars in 1054 shortly after this victory. He captured this place on 6-8 January 1054. After the victory, while returning from Mren, he captured this place and stayed. The Seljuk armies, which took action from Arran, which was the base of the Seljuks in Azerbaijan, passed through the Erzurum region and captured by moving towards Erzincan. Then they continued their influx to Kemah and Malatya regions and took the region under control. Seljuk forces first captured Sivas and then Şark-i Karahisar. Alp Arslan, who ascended the Seljuk throne, the Sultan, who came to Nakhchivan before long, divided his army into two after passing the Aras river over the bridge formed from the boats.
