Orthodox Church and Social Development

Summary/Abstract: In the present article the author considers some of the fundamental prepositions of a relation between the Orthodox Church and the social development – a relation perceived not only as an enrichment of a society but also as a way for educating people, for the development of democratic institutions, law etc. In the final part of the article, the author reflects on the relation between the Church and the state as well as on the potential danger of metaphysical justification of the social system, i.e. on the secularization of the Church.
