Summary/Abstract: Starting in 1948-1949, the emerging era of dogmatism, socialist realism era, when poets, novelists and playwrights, critics and essayists, most of them lacking talent and value, completely forgotten now, agreed to respond in a very schematic, thesist, narrow propagandistische, way to what was the event of the day, without having to worry about the sustainability of art. Critics claimed socialist realist literature’s superiority, removing the forebears’ true literary works. Literature development entered a path of exclusivist militancy where individual differentiation is altered by a collective one, depending on the political objectives of the moment. Pursuing the formation of the new man, the communism, as educational purpose attached to the socialism cause, socialist realist creations were ruled and dominated by a set of principles amongst which the party spirit, revolutionary character, socialist humanism and popular character, and the vision was based on materialist philosophy. Since 1948, literature was autarkic, subject to technical templates, to ideological constraints, which gave birth to uniformity and theme repetition, literary vision, technology and typology. On the literary front it was aimed to build a viable formula based on an offensive-ideological esthetics and thematic restriction to socialist actuality and progressive history. During the 50s, poetry alongside prose is regarded as indispensable to masses. It was considered that the quality of a poem was given by lucid values and also by poet’s capacity to live and play the greatness of present. The poet has become one of the intellectual workers and poetry is characterized by the lack of personality, the existence of empty phrases, slogan parasites. On this line fall Mihu Dragomir, A. Thomas, Michael Beniuc, Magda Isanos, Emil Isac, Ion Vitner, Ben Corlaciu Peter Vintilă, Maria Banus and others. They painted in their lyrics the new man, the victory of socialism, the providential man (Stalin), the fight against the class enemy. Fair interpretation of history is remarkable in the light of Stalinist doctrine and socialist realism method. One of the lead writers which sustained a constant and fruitful activity on the engaged literature line was Dumitru Corbea. Since the 1944-1948 period, he has been remarked as an active representative of social order in poetry. Its volumes published during 1948-1966 are poetic embodiments of Marxist-Leninist and socialist realism method. He addresses the issue of rural poverty, war and rebellion, but meet and themes concerning industry and everyday life. In relation to the rural theme, he presented peasant sufferings caused by the exploitation of the bourgeois-landlords, but also the image of the new village and the socialist era peasants.
