Another type of transition: from the book to the Internet

Summary/Abstract: The transition from the classical lecture to the electronic format represents one of the characteristic phenomena of today’s world.According to some pessimistic opinions, books and traditional reading are about to dissapear; the excessive usage of the electronic media can have dramatical consequences: a poorer spirituality, a colourless communication, loneliness.As a reply, we can enumerate the advantages of the new type of documents: communication in a real time, global spreading, unlimited storage.The libraries - compelled to adaptation - have experienced this impact. Is the classical library in danger to dissapear, being replaced totally by the huge virtual library, the Internet? The answer is not easy to be given. I assume that the two types of documents will continue to exist in parallel, and the future will select the proportions.
