Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyse the Transylvanian destiny of one of the most important religious books that has been printed in the 17th century at Alba Iulia printing house: Chiriacodromion. The first part of this study presents the political and confessional background – from Transylvania and Wallachia – of the publication of this book in 1699. We were also interested in the structure of the book, which is only a republication of the most succesful Romanian printed work from the 17th century, Cazania lui Varlaam. The second part of the study reffers to the way this book – Chiriacodromion – has been accepted in Transylvanian background during the 18th century by different confessional orders: orthodoxy and catholicism, archpriests, priests and also by irreligious persons.
