Summary/Abstract: Constantin Karadja is famous not only because of his collections of valuable antiquites, but also for his interest concerning the ancient books – incunabula. In the first half of the 20th century, while he was living in Berlin, The Committee for the Collective Catalogue asked him to realize a catalogue of incunabula from Romania. His list, including 1.470 copies, was not complete; there were some still unknown incunabula at Oradea, Iaşi, Satu Mare, Baia Mare etc.In the list presented in 1937 he gives us informations about incunabula found in Mureş county, at different librairies: Franciscan Monastery from Călugăreni, with 23 copies; the Reformed College – 7 copies; Teleki Library – 29 copies; Franciscan Monastery from Târgu Mureş – 1 copy. There are some differences between Karadja’s List and the Catalogue of Incunabula from Teleki Library, published in 1971, suggesting that he was not informed about all the copies that existed at that moment in this area. It is also possible that the incunabula from different librairies of Mureş county were identified only after Karadja’s List in 1937.
