Summary/Abstract: Aloneness and loneliness, suffering, lucidity and conscience, despair, dissolution and revolt are some of the main elements of ontology in Emil Cioran’s philosophy. The interpretation of a theme of the superman, described starting from these elements present in Emil Cioran’s philosophy, offers openings to Friedrich Nietzsche’s philosophy, with similarities, but also with differences. The being and her “voice” behind the Cioran’s aphorisms and the works of the Romanian thinker (who is a fascinating legend in universal contemporary philosophy) belong to revolt and despair. In the face of the cruelty of the human condition, framed by limitations and meaningless, the Cioranian philosophical approach is titanic in contents and attitudes, a fundamental ontological tension in the face of limitless dissolution. We are emphasizing here this colossal confrontation with existence, transcendence, divinity and the absence of divinity led in an ever surprising, constructive and then destructive assault times and again. This assault is tireless, brave, worthy of a superman. The essential distinction, however, is that Cioran’s “superman” does not fight primarily with the world and worldly things and phenomena, but primarily with himself, with despair, resenting the accentuated decompositions of living until their annulment, but restored by lucid thought.
