The Media's Interference with the Citizens' Private Life

Summary/Abstract: The freedom of expression and the right to information are core values of the contemporary democratic society. Often, within the journalist activities those values are opposed to other important values, among which is the right to privacy. The content of the terms „right to privacy“, „freedom of expression“ and „public interest“ emphasizes the importance of the discussion on the media’s interference with a person’s life and the role of the media regulation and self-regulation in this process.
