THE FEMALE THEME IN BOLU FOLK SONGS

Summary/Abstract: This article examines the verbal elements of women in Bolu folk songs. All aspects such as women's names in Bolu folk songs, expressions directed to women, various discourses about women, women's clothes and women's accessories in folk songs, women's beauty and elegance were examined by classifying. Bolu folk songs have a wide variety in terms of their subjects and have a very important place in Turkish folk music culture in terms of melody richness. In our study, the main sources we used to reach the notes of Bolu folk songs are TRT Turkish Folk Music archive, the book titled "Benden Selam Olsun Bolu Folk Songs" published by the Municipality of Bolu and a joint work of Taner Can and Siyami Palazoğlu, various theses and articles and the field studies in the research process. experience and observations. Among the examined 60 folk songs, only women's issues were identified. In the findings part of our study, verbal analyzes of the female theme in folk songs were made in accordance with the classification issues.
