Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses, in the light of current events, the position and significance of Zion in the Middle Eastern conflict, through an analysis of the theological assumptions in the context of political events in Palestina and Israel. It starts from the historiographic method, which determines the political platform of the problem, and the comparative method, which determines the parameters of the implementation of sacral factors in the geostrategic nature of the conflict, in order to interpret the official theology of Judaism in the last part of the article, and gives directions in order to overcome „cornerstone“ problems. Concluding considerations are sum of stated above in an attempt to objectify the problem from the point of view of theological and political science.
