Summary/Abstract: This work analyses general features and characteristics of university programs. The first part of the work addresses the purpose and forms of program evaluation. The process of preparing and implementing program evaluation can be divided up into a number of important steps. This part of the article elaborates on the process of preparing and implementing the evaluation of study programs by presenting concrete steps. A review of current research into program evaluation shows that universities use different evaluation models. The remaining part of the article gives a detailed description of the more recent and/or the cited models which can be applied in evaluating university study programs (the systematic approach model, the generic-logical model, the goals-focused model).
