Summary/Abstract: In the 50s of the regime of ”popular democracy” in communist Romania, many Orthodox priests knew the prisons. Even the Constanța County experienced a repression of the Security organs against the Orthodox clergy, arrested either for involvement in the anti-communist resistance movement, or for the anti-Bolshevik activity before 1945, or for pastoral care among the faithful. We identified and researched the cases of these priests both in the archives of the former Securitate and in the church ones, so that we were able to briefly reconstruct their biographies and the context of the Stalinist repression of the 1950s.
