Summary/Abstract: Every human being, regardless of his age, to a large extent functions in a consciously or dictated social environment. In the case of students, the latter is represented by the school. Multiple social interactions take place in its space. Hence, it seems that the key to human development ‒ shaping self-esteem, personal dignity and subjectivity - is the sense of importance in a specific environment. The aim of the research is to answer the question to what extent students feel important in the school environment? In the 2018/2019 school year, 258 students and 291 students aged 11-15 were tested with the Krystyna Kmiecik-Baran Attitude Test2. Its results were statistically analyzed. The respondents, except for 11-year-old students who experience a sense of importance of their person at school, evaluate them at a neutral level.
