Summary/Abstract: The Rhetoric of Prophetic Discourse in Isaiah and Jeremiah. The paper is trying to demonstrate that rhetorical analysis of biblical texts, with particular emphasis on certain passages of the prophecy, helps clarify the different parts of prophetic speech, helps discover what is said and especially what is not clearly stated there in. Discourse Analysis of the two prophets reveals that their speech is well designed, well developed and convincing, and that all its parts are logically linked. This is not just a literary analysis of the speech but, first of all, it is a critical examination of how the prophets have developed and delivered speeches, and secondly it helps identifying easier methods of persuasion used by the prophets in their messages to the people.
