Summary/Abstract: This article engages with texts, written in the not well known period of fr. Georges Florovsky’s life – the time spent in Sofia Bulgaria. It traces the development of one of his core ideas, the absence of ethnophyletism, to the cosmopolitan atmosphere of his home as well as the later time spent in Sofia. It also retrospectively looks at the key later themes in his writings in comparison with his earlier articles.
