Summary/Abstract: This volume does not come out of the blue. On the contrary, it is the result of a long-standing relationship between professors from the Faculties of Philosophy of the universities of Bucharest and Complutense of Madrid. I first met a member of the University of Bucharest in 2015, at the Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics, where we were both visiting scholars. Since then various meetings have taken place, some of them thanks to the Erasmus+ mobility program, and some others with the participation of professors from the University of Bucharest in conferences held in Madrid. The excellent academic and personal relationship resulted in the kind invitation to edit a volume in this journal, which I was delighted to accept. Our hope is that this volume will be an opportunity to strengthen ties between the two universities that will foster future collaborations.
