Summary/Abstract: This study analyzes private expenditures on health as a percentage of total expenditures on health in European union countries for the period 2000 - 2016. Information from the World Bank and World Health Organization database was used. The private expenditures on health before and after their accession to the EU for the countries that joined the EU during the study period are compared. Using statistical methods of analysis we prove the presence of significant differences between countries.
