Summary/Abstract: Alchemy is often accepted as a pseudo science, magic or even witchcraft. Her activities are limited to combination of techniques whose purpose is the creation of metals, the transformation of metal into gold or fabrication of precious metals. By analyzing certain fundamental principles we will make an attempt to underline her importance in the development of contemporary medicine. Starting with Philosopher’s stone and gaining inside the secrets of metal transformation, analysis of quintessence and the active substance, examination of plants and theirs qualities, development of equipment, all with the purpose of being used in the name of the patients and their healing.
