Summary/Abstract: The objective of the article is to present the creation of Bruno Schulzin a borderland trilogy by Stanisław Srokowski. The topic of the Borderlandsthat he chose and the historic and social background of the novel made the authorintroduce the character of the author of The cinnamon shops into the trilogy. Thecreation of his identity was supposed to confirm that the Borderlands were placesexceptionally fertile in talents, full of literary giants, such as: Mickiewicz,Słowacki, Schulz. The writer’s surname, his first name, titles of short stories, hisexistence in that particular historical time and real Drohobycz – they all confirmthat this is rather reconstruction not construction of the hero’s identity that wedeal with.
