Summary/Abstract: The key purpose of the inclusive education is to provide each pupil with optimal conditions and maximum stimuli for his/her complex development regardless of their origin, social status, ethnicity, mental, intellectual, language skills and physical conditions. As such i tis based on an individual approach and „tailor-made“ education plan/programme. Inclusive education goes hand-in-hand with heterogeneity, as the diversity is to improve the quality of education. The article explores the role of the teachers in inclusive education, how well they prepared and trained for challenges involved with its implementation. This is the subject of a planned research project of the Faculty of Education of the University of Presov: Pedagogical staff member and teacher trainee in the context of inclusive education.
