Summary/Abstract: This paper presents my experience of working in the organization of the XIII World Conference of Comparative Education Societies, held in 2007, hosted by the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo, along which, and under the leadership of professor Adila Pašalić-Kreso, I have been learning about different aspects of international collaboration, experientially paving the path of personal and scientific enrichment through intercultural encounters. The illustrated experiential learning achieved, through the involvement in the conference organizational committee, has confirmed all about the values of the interdisciplinary inquiry led by the most prominent world experts, scientists and leaders of the professional organizations in the field of education, gathered around the World Council of Comparative Education Societies (WCCES), their goals and objectives, and their significance throughout the globe. Joint cross-cultural research projects, assistance made by experts and scientists, and discussions led by prominent comparative and international educators, on periodic occasions, have mainly created a long-lasting contribution for all those communities which have been attempting to improve their own educational systems through open discussions and constructive dialogues. The Conference was a big scientific and professional challenge for the University of Sarajevo, for the Faculty of Philosophy, whose positive and long- term contributions, witnessed even as we speak, have been presented in this paper. Special emphasis has been put on illustrating immensely great and precious role that professor Pašalić-Kreso has played in the organization of such a big international event, seen through the prism of its historical relevance for our education system, profession and science of education, for the city of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and for my own personal growth and development in educational science.
