Summary/Abstract: The article addresses the subject of maintaining and transferring national culture in various contexts, for example emigrant and those concerning national minorities. On the example of Hungarian communities living outside Hungary, we consider the role of particular actors involved – the kin-state, non-governmental organizations, political parties, and diaspora. It is worth asking a question about the nature of relations between communities, which begin to differ from each other over time.
