Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the knowledge of basic Polish vocabulary among the children of immigrants living in the United States of America. The people in focus were born in the USA and attended Polish Saturday school regularly. The aim of the research was the study of everyday lexis and for that purpose I distinguished the following the thematic areas: parts of clothes, feelings and emotions, computer and household appliances. The paper presents the knowledge of nouns and adjectives belonging to the selected lexical groups.
