Summary/Abstract: The subject matter of the research is the description of the word {czasy}. In most cases, contemporary Polish dictionaries classify this word as a plural form of the word ‘czas’ (in the meaning of ‘period of time’). However, the word is not a plural form, but a separate plurale tantum lexeme. It is due to the fact that we do not deal here with a multiplication of a period of time, but with a similar naming of a certain period. The word {czasy} collocates with other descriptions, often in a similar way to the form czas. Nevertheless, there are clear semantic differences between these connections. Consequently, one can distinguish the plural lexeme czasy from the singular lexeme {czas}.
