Summary/Abstract: The subject matter of the article is the comparison of the phrases {cały czas} and {przez cały czas}. The examination of the type of information they convey along with their juxtaposition enables to distinguish a number of semantic modifications. Their comparison but also the application of the substitution method and basic logical tests (of conjunction and disjunction) enabled to verify the thesis of semantic proximity (yet not of full synonymy) of the phrases in question. The most important and basic difference between the phrases is that the construction {przez cały czas} refers to a particular period of time (from t1 to t2) which is filled with a certain action or state, while the phrase {cały czas} puts more stress on the duration of the activity.
