Summary/Abstract: With Decision No. 7 of 8.10.2013, on case No. 16/2013, the Bulgarian Constitutional Court decided upon the case, initiated by 96 Members of Parliament, for the examination of the alleged incompatibility of M.P. Delyan Peevski’s status of deputy with another state office, and for the termination of his powers of a Member of Parliament. The decision proved controversial, not least because the constitutional judges disagreed and did not reach a majority holding. Aside from media interest and political quarrels, the case raised interesting and important legal issues. The article aims at contributing to the legal debate on the discussed case.
