Intruder in barrow? The secondary burials in the funeral rituals of Wielbark- and Przeworsk Cultures

Summary/Abstract: The secondary burials in barrows of olders cultures, but and – how in case of Wielbark-culture – also in own, somewhat older mounds, is one of interesting aspects of funeral custom in Roman Period. Using for the secondary burials funeral objects with the early chronology is a practice with almost universal character particularly. Authoress discusses the phenomenon of secondary burials in barrows of Przeworsk- and Wielbark- Culture. This article tries answer for a question – what were the reasons the community gave up from building of new barrows and adapted for burial the older mounds, finished works of tomb architecture?
