Summary/Abstract: The author of the article shows the essential relationship of the Eucharist with the existence of the People of God, undertaken in the theology of Joseph Ratzinger. He devotes special attention to his reflection on the Eucharistic experience of believers who, by accepting the Lord in liturgical gifts, become the salt of the earth and the light of the world through full union with him. On the basis of the analysis of the source texts of the German theologian, embedded in the post-conciliar theological literature, it is worth noting that J. Ratzinger took care of the proper experiencing of the mystery of the Eucharist, which allows the whole People of God to properly accept and understand the Eucharistic Conciliar doctrine.
