Summary/Abstract: The year 1904 is important for the history of the Electrotechnics due to a number of events: the birth of the Romanian engineer and professor, academician Remus Radulet; the publication in Paris of the doctoral thesis „Recherches sur l’effet magnétique des corps électrisés en mouvement” delivered by the great Romanian inventor, engineer and physicist Nicolae Vasilescu-Karpen; the second edition of the fundamental Maxwell’s book „A Treatise on Electricity and Magnetism” which still has a wide spreading in the world of researchers; the decision of the Congress of Electricians to create the International Electro-technical Commission. The principal part of the paper relates to the Remus Radulet’s life and activity, emphasizing the relation between the professor / engineer and mathematics.
