Los riesgos del mar en el Nomos Rhodion Nautikos

Summary/Abstract: The article is aimed to present a brief discussion of several chapters of the Nomos Rhodion Nautikos concerning the obligation of contribution for different persons taking part in a contract of carriage by sea, in case some of the goods had to be thrown overboard by the ship’s master to save the vessel. It is shown how deep the differences between the Roman regulation and the Byzantine one could be, and it is attempted to explain the reasons why these differences might have emerged.
