Summary/Abstract: The article presents the reasons for the appearance of educational difficulties at the moment when a child starts school education. It also indicates the role of the school educator in diagnosing the educational situation of a student. In addition, the author examines the educational difficulties of students in grades 1–3 in the light of research by various authors – and how to overcome them.
