Application of National Song in the Process of Foreign Languages Teaching

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the national song as an important part of teaching any foreign language (including Czech for foreigners). The first part outlines the relationship between music and language and the criteria for the selection of songs suitable for teaching. Then some activities enabling different types of work with the selected songs are presented. The article also briefly informs on research into the effect of music on teaching foreign languages, which takes place at the Faculty of Education in University Hradec Kralove.
